TRES MATAS RESERVA 2016 was awarded the Gold Medal at the28th Spring Tasting of the Mundus Vini International Wine Awards 2021, considered the most important competition in Germany and one of the most renowned in Europe.
Bodegas Vega de Yuso was recognised for its Tres Matas Reserva 2016 wine with the Gold Medal at Mundus Vini’s spring tasting 2021, one of the world’s most prestigious competitions in this sector, in which the jury—winemakers, producers and distributors, as well as specialised journalists from around the world—taste the wines in a blind, professional tasting for 20 days.
Tres Matas Reserva is a wine made from vines of more than 45 years old. It is aged for 26 months in French oak barrels, which gives this wine a very elegant structural complexity. It has a vivid, intense, cherry red COLOUR with great depth. On the NOSE, the attack is intense and complex, with caramel, chocolate, toffee and toasted notes, and it is strongly reminiscent of turrón (almond nougat). It has a range of spices, walnut, almond, clove and some balsamic tones, overripe fruits, a great bouquet. We taste a very sweet, round and structured wine with a smooth, persistent attack and a long, pleasant finish. The retronasal aroma is reminiscent of toffee, toasted, chocolate, etc.
Bodegas Vega de Yuso, S.L. was founded in 2002 by Rubén Iglesias. 20 hectares of vineyards characterised by their high phenolic expression and the production of wines with a marked personality and identity. ‘The vineyard’s age, altitude and soil typeare the keys to our viticulture’. Our wines are made of grapes from vines of over 50 years old with very low yield and exceptional quality.
